Frequently asked questions
The Safari extension isn't showing up in Safari.
After installing the iOS app, you need to enable the extension manually: Settings โ Apps โ Safari โ Extensions โ Ghost Artist Detector and toggle it on. Then refresh any music streaming page you're viewing.
I'm not seeing classification dots next to artists on Spotify or Apple Music.
Tap the Ghost Detector icon in Safari's address bar at least once on the current tab to activate the extension. The extension uses Apple's activeTab model rather than always-on permissions, so you need to grant per-tab access by tapping the icon. Once active, dots appear next to artist names automatically.
The Share extension says "Couldn't check this URL."
The URL probably isn't from a supported music streaming platform. Ghost Artist Detector classifies URLs from Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, and Amazon Music. Sharing news articles, social posts, or non-music links won't return a result.
A classification looks wrong.
Use the "Result incorrect? Report โ" link in the Safari extension popup to flag the artist. We review every reported classification.
